In Bari Kot, about 25 kilometers away from Mingora in Swat, an 1,800 years old building of Gandhara civilization still stands in its near original form. According to Italian Professor Luca, the project in-charge, the unique feature of this building, known as Veharra, is that it is on a double dome cover, a special architectural feature flanked by two major stupas. Throughout the centuries of its existence, this stupa has remained a center of religious celebrations and festivity for the followers of different religions.
