In the Indo-Pak Sub-Continent whenever someone rose above petty religious differences, he ended up in Bulleh Shah’s circle of friends. Over here there is no bar on following One’s heart and One can reach out to the Omnipresent whichever way he chooses. It is narrated that the followers of Shariat did not really appreciate the way Bulleh Shah conducted himself. He would often be in sync with the nonconformers thus inviting the ire of the Mullah’s through his poetry. Even today, the Ones who want to uphold humanism find his poetry leading their way.
